STILL catching up!!! Hawaii!!! - March 2012

We were quite a sight as we left the SLC airport...

The plane rides went better than I had expected

(I mean... I was spit up on multiple times, we changed multiple poopy diapers on the floor, etc...

but, no one screamed for longer than a couple seconds...

so, i call that a success!).

There were nice people on both flights that offered to hold a baby for us :-)

We made it!!!

(My mom had bought the boys these t shirts, 

they say "BOYS WILL BE BOYS"...

I thought they were perfect for the plane ride)

My Birthday

we went to a yummy dinner the night before my birthday

I spent a part of my birthday like this

while all 3 of my boys napped.

then, we all hiked to the lighthouse 

(this is where Adrian and I were engaged)

 I came home to this fabulous meal

& Beck decorated this cake for me

the weather unfortunately wasn't great while we were there,

but I did get in a lot of runs and sleep - heaven.

 It was a perfect beach day!

the perfect way to end our trip.

 

Hopefully we will be brave enough to endure the 7 hour plane ride with 3 little boys again soon!

this used to be true almost all of the time,

it's not so much anymore

(they're both equally cranky and happy now),

but the nicknames stuck for Beck.

PAPA love

Happy Father's Day Dad/Papa!

Since we don't get to see you

on Father's Day,

we wanted to at least say

"HAPPY PAPA DAY!!!"

(McKay just a few days old in the NICU)

(Crew, about 5 months old, first trip to Hawaii)

(Beck, 2 years, hanging out with his Papa)

We love you!

this kid tries me and lifts me up 

about 100x each day.

sometimes when he can tell i am really struggling or sad or frustrated or whatever...

he comes up and says "kisses momma?"

it makes it all better

at least for that moment.

beck's first father's blessing

it was pretty much the cutest thing ever.

he was so reverent.

he sat with his arms folded

and eyes looking up towards his dad and grandpa

the entire time.

i so wanted to take a picture of him during the blessing...

he was just so sweet...

but, waited until after and then quickly got this picture

as this busy little guy was jumping down from the chair.

we sure do love this sweet boy.

and hope he is feeling all better real real soon.

curtains, separation anxiety and ear infections

It's only Tuesday...

but, it already feels like a long week.

On Saturday, 

Beck was playing near our house and a bigger girl

(that we didn't know)

bumped into him and he fell and hit his head on the cement.

He had a pretty big bump right away, 

but by the end of the day it was almost gone.

On Monday though, I noticed it was back

and that there was a weird bruise.

I was worried about it all day,

just felt like something wasn't right,

but tried not to be a crazy mom.

Then, that night, I was putting him to bed

and he was having a hard time falling asleep.

He kept saying

"mommy take the noise out of my ears"

OK, now i was really worried.

Turns out he has a concussion...

or, as he calls it "a curtain".

Poor guy.

(here you can sort of see the bump and bruise line.)

Now, I just have to watch Beck closely 

and keep him from hitting his head again.

quite a feat!

this little guy is crazy!

wish me luck.

the anxiety of it all is killing me!

 Crew has also been out of sorts the past few days

and especially nights

(waking up too much!)...

turns out he has another ear infection

(his 3rd).

poor baby.

Then, there is my little McKay

who is suffering from some serious separation anxiety these days!

If I leave the room he is NOT happy

and let's me know.

(oh the crying... it gets to me!)

Even though they are all a little "off"

this week...

they sure are cute!

And, we are hoping that everyone is feeling/doing better soon!

i've been looking for the perfect rug forever... 

and, i finally found it!

(on Joss & Main for a great deal... 

& it's an indoor/outdoor rug, which makes it super easy to clean)

let's hope it doesn't take me forever to unroll it.

(we've had it for a couple weeks now and this is how it still looks)
