some of my favorite beck pics from this week...

first swimming lesson

just playing and being cute

just being silly.
this is also as close as he can get to doing a somersault
he just waits in this position until we come help him
the rest of the way over.

eating a piece of a donut while i shop

this one is a bit blurry...
but, he is kissing the frog at the aquarium

at gymnastics
waiting his turn to get stamps on his hands and feet.
i love his little hand saying "where is my stamp?"

that tongue is almost always out these days!

my poor sweet little guy

my little guy wasn't feeling well this week...

and had one particularly rough night...
which left us both super tired the next day.
Adrian found us like this one afternoon
(I am so glad he captured the moment)

Beck seems quite happy to be sleeping on me.

love my beckley boy.

while i was gone...

last weekend,
i went to Denver
for a super fun girls weekend
with Molly and Lindy!

here is what my boy did
while i was gone...
(at least based on the picture texts i received)

gymnastics

sliding into the pit

riding  in the car

watching cartoons

playing with cousins and their cool toys

eating In-n-Out
(his first time)
with dada

helping dad clean out the fridge

sharing smoothies with dad

 napping
(with his doggie & blankie, of course)

my handsome boys all ready for church

looks like Beck had as much as i did last weekend!

(THANKS to Adrian
& all those who helped him with Beckley!)

Beckley's 1st Birthday Party!

A few days before
 Beckley's 1st Birthday
we threw a
BoUncY Ball
themed party!

There are  A LOT of pictures
(well, because we always take a lot, but also...)
because we had A LOT of fun
and we love this 1 year old A LOT!

We served ball shaped food (mostly):

coco puffs
(Beckley's favorite treat!)

along with cheeto balls, fruit balls & pizza
(& some salad, not ball shaped, but...
i am a salad kind of girl!)

Dessert was a bouncy ball cake,
cupcakes with a ball candy on top
& cake balls!

Beckley's cake was cookie monster themed
because this was also my first birthday cake
(& when i saw this cake in our local bakery
i just couldn't help but start a little tradition.
i had found a few pictures of me on my first birthday
a few weeks  earlier and had been showing them to Beckley
which made it extra fun & special for him to have the same cake!)

The decor was all ball themed
(i love polka dots, so this was easy!)

we stuck bright colored "balls" all over the house...
and up our walkway.

I made this banner
out of a dishtowel
that I found at TJ Maxx for $2.

(just added some grosgrain ribbon, a dowel,

some curly ribbon & hung it up with some polka dot material)

I was pretty proud of my frugality & creativity
used in making the decor for his little party.
surprisingly, I just didn't buy everything at Target :-)

my mom also helped me make this
cute "B".
(just bought a cardboard B,
glued wrapping paper to it,
added some green ribbon to the edges
& used some more of that b&w polka dot material to hang it.)

I made this "Happy Birthday"
banner too.
(It's not the cutest...
but, I made it without buying a thing...
i used only stuff from our basement.)

we also made our own little ball pit...

most the kiddos had a "ball" in here
(a few were a bit scared...)
and it is still set up in my front room :-)

The birthday boy was all smiles...

and, loved all the balls!

(i love that in most of the pictures from the party
he has a ball in his hand,
well when he isn't shoving blue frosting into his mouth that is...)

THE CAKE...
(so, for his cute little hat...
i actually bought a $3 cheap & plain hat
@ Babies-R-Us and then
(with some help from my mom)
embellished it a bit with some ribbon)

here is my mom bringing him his cake
(similar to the picture from my 1st birthday!)

not sure what to do...

too cute!

the first bite.

Beckley went right for the cookie
in cookie monster's mouth...
and was happy with that for awhile...
(but, see below for what happened during the after party!)

The whole party crew.

Presents...

Thanks for all the gifts everyone!!!

Beckley and his cute little girlfriend, Presley!

We gave all the kids one of those big bouncy balls to take home.

The After Party...

turns out Beckley just wanted to enjoy
his cake with a more intimate crowd

messy & happy birthday boy!

looking a bit sick
(although i really don't think much ended up in his mouth)

sharing with dada

we love this boy!

time to clean this boy up...

all cleaned up...
& back in the balls.
(check out that belly!)

relaxing & enjoying a bottle with dad
after a long day of fun & lots of bouncy balls...
