wedding crashing and midnight rolling

what did we do this weekend?  all wedding planning!  Cake tasting, invitation ordering, ring shopping, dress making, suit shopping... and tonight we went wedding crashing!  we "crashed" two weddings in SF to check out some bands.  while all of that is FUN!... i was thinking about when we did things other than "wedding" on our weekends...

one of my favorite things i have done in awhile in SF was when we joined the MIDNIGHT ROLLERS!  this is a group that meets at pier 1 everyone friday night @ 9 and rollerblades 13 miles through the streets of SF.  it was fun, crazy, tiring, and super cool!  check out some of our pics...

THANKS Marks Family!

The Marks Family (who happened to be on vacation in Hawaii and at the lighthouse moments after Adrian proposed) was kind enough to take our picture because Adrian's camera was broken.  Adrian gave them his email and we hoped that we would get the pictures...

We were so happy to get this email from The Marks:

I am so sorry that I didn't get these to you sooner.  We pray that God blesses you both with a sustaining love and commitment to one another and that you never forget the joy you felt when these pictures were taken.

All the best-
The Marks
Thanks to the Marks family for the pictures and kind words!

ENGAGED!!!

Adrian had to take a last minute work trip to Hawaii and he asked Caisa to come along. Adrian kept telling Caisa that he wanted to go on a long run to a lighthouse by her house while they were there... Caisa had no problem with this, although she did doubt how far Adrian would be able to go. From her house to the lighthouse and back is about 13 miles. On Saturday morning (7.26), Caisa slept in (very uncharacteristic!), but when she woke up, Adrian was up (he had been up since 6AM! a bit nervous? anxious?) and ready to run... so Caisa put on the cute running outfit that Adrian had bought for her the night before... and, they were off!

Caisa was a bit tired on the run, but figured they probably would not make it the entire way (she brought her cell phone, in case they needed to call for a ride home). Adrian brought along his camera to document some of the awesome views
(at least that is what Caisa thought! Adrian knew he wanted to
document a little something else
too!). The first place they stopped to take pics....
Adrian's camera died. He was so upset. Caisa thought he might cry and was like "come on, it is just a camera. We will get you a new one. Are we running or taking pics anyway?" So, on they went along the gorgeous coast...

They made it all the way up to the lighthouse. Caisa was quite proud of Adrian. He suggested that they jump over the lookout railing and hike down a bit towards the lighthouse. Caisa hopped over the railing and quickly found a rock to sit down on. However, this did not go along with Adrian's plan, so he suggested that they go a bit further down as he took off down the cliffs. Caisa thought "how rude that he is not helping me down" and so she took her sweet time following him. Meanwhile, Adrian is complaining about something in his shoe and leaning over trying to get it out. When Caisa finally made her way down to where Adrian was... Adrian said "Check out this rock, it is huge!" and opened his hand... to reveal a big DIAMOND ROCK! He then got down on his knee and asked Caisa to marry him. Caisa said "YES!!!"

(FYI- He ran all the way to the lighthouse, about 7 miles, with the ring tied to his drawstring!!!)

They did not have a camera to document the event, so they bugged a bunch of tourists to take their picture. Caisa did call her parents to pick them up on the run back, but not because Adrian couldn't make... because she couldn't make it, she was too happy to run! (did you think it was possible?)

When they made it back to the Monahan house, Adrian had worked with Caisa's mom to have the house/lanai decorated. Roses, rose petals, candy, bridal magazines, sparkling cider, cake... it was PERFECT!!!!
