if my boys knew what "famous" meant,

they'd definitely think we were celebrities

given the amount of attention we get from complete strangers 

when they 4 of us go out.

dinner on the go at the mall.

costco.

(yes, I push the cart and pull the stroller...

a girls got to do what a girls got to do)

the zoo.

we don't mind being "famous"...

most of the time it is fun.

the boys love the attention

and i get to meet lots of new people.

but, sometimes...

i do want to say something like...

"you are the 10th person in the last 10 minutes who

has asked me if they are twins 

(or told me that you have twins who are now ?? old)...

and that is great and all,

 but it is only a matter of time before one of these boys

has a complete meltdown

and believe it or not, i'm not just walking around costco 

with a stroller & a cart for fun..."

it ain't easy being famous.

11 months!

Today, the twins 

are 11 months old!

(McKay & Crew)

to celebrate,

they had their first piece of licorice.

Here's what my babes are up to @ 11 months:

McKay is still quite a bit bigger than Crew... 

not sure how much though.

Crew is crawling (FAST!),

McKay is still not.

(which frustrates him A LOT).

They both sleep from about 7-7

(sometimes waking up for a bottle sometime between 4 and 6).

Neither have any teeth yet.

Crew will & can eat just about anything...

McKay still struggles with solids (gagging & choking often)

(you wouldn't guess this given their size, but it's true).

Although Beck still calls Crew "the cranky baby",

he is quite content these days & rarely cries.

McKay on the other hand,

has some serious separation anxiety

(only with me... and it is driving me CRAZY!)...

we're hoping this phase passes quickly :-)

Crew is addicted to his binky...

and, I wish McKay was...

They are both babbling like crazy.

Beck's 1st day of preschool!

I stayed up way too late doing this...

(because, i love doing stuff like this!)

 

luckily, Beck loved it!

yeah for preschool!

We celebrated with some chocolate donuts for breakfast!

 the babes loved it too.

 Beck, the cutest preschooler ever!

(he is almost 2.5)

He had a great first day!

He cried for about 30 seconds after I left,

but his teachers said he was a total rock star after that...

toys & the bebes

Today Beck asked me where Adrian was...

when I told him that Daddy was at work,

he said "oh we don't work momma,

we just play with toys and the bebes."

our life sounds pretty darn good when you put it like that.

here we were at about 1:00 this afternoon.

my little Beckley man starts preschool tomorrow though,

so there's about to be a bit more structure to our life...

nicknames

Beck has a few nicknames for these two...

"the bebes"

and, he still sometimes calls Crew "the cranky baby"

and McKay "the happy baby"

(although that's not entirely accurate anymore)

but, I love his latest nicknames for them

we have created over the past couple of years.

it is filled with boys, memories, love, craziness & 5 hearts.

our home is us.

yes, my hands are full...

...of car seats, a diaper bag, bottles, toys, a dirty toddler, messy babies, blankies, sippy cups, snacks, etc...

i seriously get told "you've got your hands full" multiple times every single day.

thanks for pointing that out everyone,

i hadn't noticed.

but, i should always be grateful that you point out the obvious... 

it is good for me to remember (amidst the craziness) 

that i am so lucky & blessed to have 

my hands full of a whole lotta LOVE.

summer days

it's been a bit of a cruel summer around here

(more about the cruel part later though...)

but, here are some of the fun & happy parts of our summer...

spending time on the porch...

playing at the park...

stopping at every construction site we can find 

on our runs in the morning...

pool time...

(this is still a bit overwhelming for me to do by myself with all 3 boys though...

so, we haven't had as much pool time this summer as the boys would have liked...

next summer!)

 watermelon & BBQs....

 riding bikes...

 walks/runs around the lake...

spending time in the backyard...

 just being outside!

cookies!

(i guess we have a lot of these in the winter too though...)

tonight i just wanted to post some

happy images...

to balance out today...

which consisted of

throw up in the stroller , 

an explosive diaper at the park,

realizing i forgot my wallet at the end of my target shopping trip,

a baby with croup and an ear infection,

running out of gas (oh yes i did!?!  a first!  and hopefully a last...),

the ice cream i just purchased melting in the car while walking to get gas,

a bloody lip,

catching a mouse (adrian wasn't here) under a basket

(and SCREAMING my lungs out in the process),

& dealing with a very scared and needy toddler who is suddenly terrified of going to sleep.

yes, that ALL happened today.

let's hope tomorrow has a whole lot less of that 

and whole lot more
