hope in our hearts and wings on our heels

As we look back on 2009 we thought it was summed up well by

the many runs that we went on together...

(and those that Caisa missed out on...)

January: late Saturday morning runs together as newlyweds!

February: ran through Central Park in NYC on Valentine's day! (the trip was Adrian's Christmas gift to Caisa)

March: ran through Big Bear City (while spending the weekend there with Bryan, Paige & Mason)

April: ran in So Cal (while visiting Caisa's family... Adrian's first time meeting the whole Monahan family)

May: ran together (with Tyson too!) in beautiful Big Sur! (Molly & Jason's farewell weekend...)

June: found out we were pregnant!!!... and so, Caisa cut back on the running... we ran together more now though (b/c Adrian could keep up)!

July: many short and slow runs (1st trimester!) in France, Italy and Germany!

August: Adrian enjoyed being able to run faster and further than Caisa!

September: ran the Palo Alto Moonlight Run (ran this together for the 3rd year in a row)... this would be one of Caisa's last runs of 2009 as the doctor recommended no more running a few days later-- a small price to pay for a healthy baby boy!

October: no more running for Caisa in 2009... Adrian ran for all 3 of us :-)

November: while in Hawaii, Adrian ran the run that he proposed on (in 2008)... Caisa walked the last portion with him... and his B.O. after the run made her pass out! (ambulance came and all... scary at the time, but a funny story now!)

December: snowy run/walks (Adrian ran, Caisa walked) in Utah while spending time with Adrian's family over Christmas

In 2009, we ran with "hope in our hearts and wings on our heels" (Chariots of Fire)....

We are so grateful for all that 2009 brought us

and even more thankful to all of those

who supported, prayed for, and lifted us throughout the year!

Can't wait to see where our running takes the 3 of us in 2010....
